Here some basic info about crypto & the blockchain.
What is a Blockchain?
A blockchain is like a magic notebook that everyone in the world can see, but nobody can erase or secretly change.
- Every time someone makes a deal (like sending money to someone else), that deal is written into the notebook.
- When the page is full of deals, a new page (called a block) is added.
- All the pages are chained together in the right order — that's why it's called a block-chain.
- Thousands of people (called miners or validators) check that every new page is correct before it’s added.
- Once a deal is written and approved, it’s there forever. No cheating, no lying.
So basically: ✅ Everyone can see it
✅ No one can secretly change it
✅ It keeps everything honest
That’s why blockchain is used for things like Bitcoin — so people can send money without a bank, and everyone can trust it’s real.
What is Crypto?
Crypto, short for cryptocurrency, is a kind of digital money that only exists online. It’s secured by cryptography, which makes it safe, anonymous, and nearly impossible to fake.
Here’s how it works in simple terms:
- It’s like money for the internet — you can send and receive it without needing a bank.
- Instead of being printed like euros or dollars, crypto is created with computer code.
- Every transaction is recorded on a blockchain, a public, secure list that everyone can see.
- The most famous crypto is Bitcoin, but there are thousands of others like Ethereum, Litecoin, and Solana.
You own crypto by keeping it in a digital wallet, and you can use it to buy things, invest, or send money worldwide — often with lower fees and no middleman.
