Follow these steps and you are done in a few minutes.

Step 1Set colour A and B: type a hex value, or pick one from your library.

Step 2Read the real difference. The number in the middle is ΔE2000, the formula the industry uses, with a verdict in plain words underneath.

Step 3All formats side by side: HEX, RGB, HSL, Lab, LCh and CMYK. The CMYK figures are marked as an approximation, because without an ICC profile there is no correct one.

Step 4Load your own swatch books: drop an .ase from Illustrator, or paste a list. No RAL or Pantone values are shipped, because those are licensed. Everything stays in your browser.

Step 5The contrast between A and B is shown as well. On a sign that is not a web rule but legibility at a distance.

Step 6Print a sheet with both colours, every value and the difference, to take along to the paint shop or the press.
